Result bold+italics issue seems to be font-dependent (ex: happens for Gill Sans and Lato but not for Arial). _textMesh.font = Resources.Load("fonts/Lato-Italic.ttf") Use Lato-Regular.ttf in prefab and change the font asset via script in runtime: _textMesh.text = ArticulationSpoken ? "" + text + "" Use Lato-Regular.ttf in prefab and add-via script in runtime- tags around each syllable to be italicized: Use Lato-Regular.ttf in prefab and change-via script in runtime-the Font Style for selected objects as follows: Use Lato-Regular.ttf for all TextMesh objects in editor. I can only get this result by changing the font asset for the TextMesh prefab to Lato-Italic.ttf in the editor ahead of time, which forces all my runtime-cloned TextMesh objects to be italicized, defeating the purpose. I'm trying to make selected (context-dependent) TextMesh objects italicized via script in runtime using Lato font.
